Alan McNiel

Alan resides in Troy Montana. He received his BFA from Colorado State University and his MFA from the University of Montana. Alan started as a potter and switched his emphasis to painting. His whimsical paintings are usually of the animals that grace his property. He is also a poet, as you will see from the following: Late at night when the wind blows cold/ Down through the tundra from the great North Pole/ The chickens are snoozing down in their henhouse/ Their snoring and ignoring a tiny field mouse/ Snow flies ferocious, trees pop like powder kegs/ The chickens are dreaming about laying some eggs/ Snow piles quite deeply, and stars shine like ice/ The chickens are sleeping inside with the mice
